Chinese New Year

Thursday, 4 March 2010

14 February was Chinese New Year Day. CNY is First day of lunar calendar. We also have Chinese New Year in Korea. It is a happy celeberation. This day is meaningful because it is the start of a new year. A lot of children bow to their elders and in return they will recieve a red packet pill with money. The elders will give the children their blessings.

This year I spend CNY in foreign country, Malaysia. I was happy but I missed my father and relatives. I didn't go school in CNY. So I almost stayed at home. 14 February was Sunday so My family went church and then mother, brother and sister played in church. I think maybe they play yut. I went Gurney with Luke. It was fun. We ate carbonara spaghetti, soup, fried chip.... While we were queing up for movie ticket. We met Hae-in, Gok-hei, Aaron. They watched percy Jackson and the lightning thief. Last, we went shopping and then went back home. When I was home I played with my sister and I bow to my mother. We called to father. We played yut and puzzle and We talked each other. I spent quality time with my family.
Next day we went outside. We saw Lion dance. It was nice and fresh to me because I haven't seen Lion dance on New Year, just I saw in competition. We ate Korea traditional food and also ate chinese cookies. We ate really really a lots. I think chinese cookies is really delicious, it is sweet and soft or crunch. At night, we saw fire crackers. Fire crackers and Lion dance have signification. noise sound wake up dragon and dragon bring rain. other one is dragon repulse evil spirits. I think that this day is nice for my experience.

Totally, I spent my time well and happily and I hope that I have nicer time in next year.
